CAT is Common Admission Test 2016 and the official notification for this will be released soon in the mid of july.IIM Bangalore will be organising the common admission test and a 1st round of the meeting is conducted by the Bschool for the organising committee of CAT. In order to take admission in IIMs for MBA programs this exam is conducted at national level. On the rotational basis, every year in any of the IIM Common admission Test is conducted and this year it will be conducted in IIM Bangalore. In 19 IIMs, for 3000 seats the two lakh students appeared for the CAT in 2015. From 6th August, 2016 the application process will begin and in the end of the month of July 2016, the official notification will be released.
Registration process
This year, there will be a separate website for the procedure of the application which is completely online. The official website of the Common admission test 2016 is ‘www.iimcat.ac.in’. The registration is necessary for the candidates who want to take give the examination of CAT 2016. Various details like name, phone number, date of birth and email address are to be filled by the candidates who want to register themselves. Before registration, the candidates need to check their eligibility which can be checked according to the particular percentage which is necessary in the academics.
The procedure of the registration is as follows:
- Firstly log on to the official website of the CAT i.e. ‘www.iimcat.ac.in’ and click on the link of register now where the new profile is to be made by the candidates.
- All the important details must be prepared correctly like date of birth, name , mobile number which should be same as on the official documents.
- On form , in the end the captcha code must be entered and in the declaration section , the candidates have to click on the agree checkbox and click on the submit button.
- When the process of the registration will be completed , the candidates will receive a mail of confirmation in which they will receive login id and password on their mobile number which is registered
FEE – the application fee must also be check by the candidates first, the fees of the general and OBC candidates is 1600 and for the SC/ST students it is 800/-

Exam pattern
There is a standard exam pattern of CAT 2016 and it will include the 3 sections logical reasoning, mathematics and English language. So the candidates must do the preparation according to the exam pattern only so that they can score well in the common admission test of the year 2016.
