Angelique Foundation Funds Hans Women Football Club For The Indian Women's League Qualifiers

In its constant endeavor to promote girls’ football in the National Capital, Angelique Foundation has sponsored Delhi based women’s sports club, Hans Women Football Club in achieving its goals at the second edition of the Indian Women’s League Qualifiers in Kolhapur this year.

The event kicks off from the 25th of November and will continue till the 8th of December 2017. Angelique Foundation has proven to be a great helping hand through its various initiatives, such as, encouraging girls from New Delhi and Haryana to take up sports professionally, providing them with sports kits and supporting them financially too. Sharing his views about the potential of the team, their Coach Mr. Paritosh Sharma said, “The Indian Women’s League Qualifiers is a huge platform for the girls to showcase their talents and to improve their chances of representing the National team.

This is going to be an important learning experience and we at Hans Women Football Club are extremely excited for the opportunity and hope to perform well. We are grateful to Angelique Foundation for their financial support, without which our participation would not have been possible.”

Expressing her pleasure on being part of the team playing the national league, the Captain, Jyoti Burnett said, “The Team is can’t wait to be on the pitch. We have practiced hard and now it is time to perform. A huge thank you to Angelique Foundation for supporting our dreams and giving us the opportunity to play the Hero Indian League Qualifiers. We will play our hearts out.”

Hans Women’s Football Club, “Winners” of Delhi State Women Football League in 2016, will be the first Delhi based women’s club to participate in a nationwide league.

After successfully completing the Season One of Indian Women’s League, which saw six clubs contest for the title of champions in India, All India Football Federation is determined to make this league even more competitive by bringing in more clubs from across India fighting for the title. The league not only contributes in the rising popularity of women’s football in India and giving them a platform but also provides young players with invaluable experience under a competitive environment.
