Recently, Tata Motors revealed the specs and features of its upcoming SUV, the Tata Hexa in a grand launching ceremony in the City of Pearls, Hyderabad. The pre-booking for the SUV is already up and running since November 1st and has received an extremely positive response so far. As per the company updates in media, it registered over 250 orders in a matter of just 48 hours. This is the case when the company has not even revealed its pricing details, which is expected to fall between 14-18 lakhs.
The Tata Hexa SUV will make its grand arrival in the mid of January 2017 and the deliveries will begin immediately. However, considering the popularity it has gained and a large amount of pre-bookings, it is expected to have high waiting periods.
The Tata Hexa is said to deliver a lot more than its competitors in the similar price range, which is the main reason behind making the car so demandable. The base variant, SE, comes with a 2.2-litre VARICOR 320 diesel engine which is capable of churning out an impressive 148 bhp at 4,000 rpm and 320 Nm at 1,700rpm – 2,700rpm, while the other variants get a more powerful 2.2-litre 4-cylinder, VARICOR 400 diesel engine which is capable of punching out a peak power of 154.2 bhp at 4,000 rpm with 400 Nm of peak torque between 1,700 – 2,700 rpm.
The exterior of the SUV features LED headlamps, mesh grille, a massive dynamic floating hood, dual tone bumper in the front, body colored spoiler and several other style variations that make it look young and muscular. It also has smoked projector headlamps, 19-inch alloy wheels, dual tailpipes at the rear, and ORVMs with incorporated turn indicators. The all new Tata Hexa will also be loaded with several safety features that include six airbags, ABS with Electronic Brake force Distribution (EBD), Corner Stability Control, Vehicle Dynamic Control, Traction Control System and Engine Drag Control System.
The interiors of the Tata Hexa has gone through several changes when compared to Tata’s older SUV, Aria. It has eye-catching all-black interiors with leather on the dashboard and door panels for a plush look. The chrome accents are not done in their usual silver colour, and have been done up in black. The upholstery is made of premium leather and has a contrast stitching and raised bolsters for superior comfort. A Harman touch infotainment system with amazing connectivity options as well as ten JBL speakers and ambient lighting will definitely perk up your mood.
As far as fuel efficiency is concerned, it is likely to be quite close to its rivals. It might deliver an estimated mileage that falls between 12 to 15 kmpl. If so is the case, then the SUV will exceed its other rivals in terms of mileage in this price segment.
